I like the above diagram from Philip Tetlock’s great book on political forecasting ‘Expert Political Judgment’ which suggests ways we can improve, as well as the factors that damage, our ability to forecast political and other events. It is based on Isaiah Berlin’s distinction I have posted on previously between the Hedgehog that knows one thing and the Fox that knows many things or in systems thinking terms, has many models of the world.
