Self in Conflict

‘Hand over your responses to the man who triggers them, and you have already lost the battle for self. Look beyond and find yourself there instead.’

Richard Morgan ‘Black Man’ (published as Thirteen in the USA) is an awesome work of science fiction and meditation on our present world.

I also find some resonance in his comment on the world:

‘Society is, always has been and always will be a structure for the exploitation and oppression of the majority through systems of political force dictated by an élite, enforced by thugs, uniformed or not, and upheld by a willful ignorance and stupidity on the part of the very majority whom the system oppresses.

Richard and he is from just up the road here in Norfolk, UK where I am visiting.
