US Veteran Casualties from Iraq and Afghan Wars

Though it dates from 2010, I thought this information gives you some idea of the cost our veterans paid for the strategic and tactical follies of the Iraq and Afghan wars:

  • Veterans Administration patients from Iraq/Afghan war veterans: 508,152
  • Of which, mental health issues:                                                                243,685
  • Of which Post Traumatic Stress Disorder:                                             143,530
That’s a lot of suffering and includes loss of limbs as well as the results of killing other human beings, and seeing your buddies die. If you want to do something for these veterans this website links you to appropriate organizations:
