World Water Usage Mapped

I love maps and those from World Mapper in particular, which show various perspectives on country’s income, resource use etc at: http://www.worldmapper.org/posters/worldmapper_map104_ver5.pdf

I particularly liked this map on Water Usage in which the area of the country is proportional to its water usage, though of course, countries import ‘virtual water’ when they import food or manufactured goods that required water to grow or make.

‘The right to water emanates from and is indispensable for an adequate standard of living as it is one of the most fundamental conditions for survival.’

Céline Dubreuil, 2006
