US space vehicle Voyager 1 as it drifted out of contact with earth on February 14th 1990, at a distance of 4 billion miles away, turned its camera back one last time towards us, and photographed the Earth as a pale blue dot in the midst of the galaxy. I find this image amazingly poignant and it puts our squabbles into perspective.

About creativeconflictwisdom

I spent 32 years in a Fortune Five company working on conflict: organizational, labor relations and senior management. I have consulted in a dozen different business sectors and the US Military. I work with a local environmental non profit. I have written a book on the neuroscience of conflict, and its implications for conflict handling called Creative Conflict Wisdom (forthcoming).
